just so you know

week number 3 in madrid.

two more weeks to go, `til the end of my semester of study abroad.

wish i could say i`ve loved this last portion of the program, but i haven`t so far, and know i won`t before i leave here.

but.... that`s ok.

just so you all know, i`m still alive, still healthy, still well.

vague is my middle name

i`ve felt really stressed lately. and frustrated.

hopefully the stress and frustration will go away once i leave here. it`s not that buenos aires itself makes me stressed, but there have been some situations lately...

a little more than 24 more hours here, then it`s off to madrid....... another big city.......... somehow still thinking i would`ve been better off staying in guanajuato for the semester, seriously, but this is good for me, frustration and stress and disillusionment and all. i just keep reminding myself of all the experiences i wouldn`t be able to have otherwise, and all the connections i`m able to make through this program. yep. that`s good stuff right there in itself.

enough of this vague blog stuff. later!

en la estancia, la bonita

on sunday i went to an estancia outside of buenos aires with marta and two of her old lady friends. it was a blast! we ate an asado (asados are so much fun in argentina!, and soooooooo delicious!), there was traditional dancing, and a show outside given by GAUCHOS... so it was a very traditional argentinian experience!

so, this is just a little message for mari: mari, you MUST live with marta when you`re here! for real! :)

guess what leisha did?

bush

have i already made mention that this is an extremely exciting time to be in buenos aires?

why, you ask?

bush is here. yes, as in the president.

just a little thought: you know, i think people should travel just for the sake of having their eyes opened to what happens outside of the divided states of america, i mean, the united states of america (did that slip?). incredible, really, what can be seen outside of the states, that cannot be seen within the states. ever.

there´s about 50 times more coverage on the anticumbre than the cumbre right now (hint: cumbre is summit en español), hmm, who´da thought.

argentina is not a fan of bush. now that i think about it, neither are any of the other south american countries. it takes no time to realize this. is there coverage of anything from the summit back in the states? i´d be curious to see what kind of coverage is it. without a doubt it´s probably totally opposite of what the coverage is like here. american media tends to do that a little bit. or rather, a lot.

wish i could say more, but... time to eat and then grab a taxi to head toward 9 de julio, where a pretty exciting marcha should be going on, or at least, that´s my plan.

man, these are some exciting times.

me encanta viajar!

meet the ortiz family

this is the majority of the family that i´ve been spending quite a bit of time with lately. call it a recent adoption if you will, but, the lady to the right of me teaches with marta, and she also happen to be the mother of four fabulous kids between the ages of 17 and 21 (my first thought: is that even possible? she looks like she´s 30 or younger, but, then again, this is buenos aires, and that´s common). we all get along really well!, and might i say, i´m really going to miss them!

just one of the many, many beautiful rainbows that appeared in this area of iguazu.

this is definitely a must-see for aaaaaaaaanybody who visits argentina. just about everybody left this place saying it was the most incredible thing they´d ever seen in their whole lives. yeah. it was pretty sweet.

blah

i feel absolutely blah today.

tooooooooooooooo much on my mind.

i want so much to say all of the awesome things i´ve learned or experienced lately, i really do, but... today... bleh. later things will be better. i know it.

and maybe eventually i´ll write a blog post that´s worth something. (sorry about that, people. really.)

así es la vida, a veces hay días así y a veces hay mejores.......... mañana todo va a ser mejor....... creo, creo, sí, creo yo.
