confirmed:

being sick while traveling alone really sucks. i thought i learned that on christmas day in mexico, but this time it's been a whole different story (no host mother to take care of me this time, only a bunch of old, loud men nearby my hotel room who treat women as second-class citizens and couldn't give a crap that the girl in the next room is coughing up a lung and moaning/groaning, feeling like she's going to die and letting out a "shhhh" every two minutes to see if they'll quiet down).
